Rum truly is a versatile spirit, anyone can make tasty cocktails using it as a base. To get you started in the world of Rum cocktails, here are three super easy cocktails that you can make at home without buying any crazy ingredients.
The Stone Fence
This American Revolutionary War-era cocktail is made with two ingredients the rebels had by the bucket load: rum and cider. This recipe adds a dash of bitters for some extra depth.
60ml The Great White Rum
Alcoholic Apple Cider
1 Dash Angostura Bitters
Pour the rum and bitters into a highball glass and add ice.
Top with the cider and stir to combine.
Garnish with a slices of apple.
Inspired by the trademarked Dark n' Stormy, this cocktail plays on the beautiful flavour synergy of Rum and Ginger. We recommend using a ginger beer with less sugar.
60ml Oak Infused Rum
20 ml Fresh Lime Juice
Pour rum and fresh lime juice over ice in a glass.
Top with ginger beer.
Garnish with a lime wedge.
Fynbos Cuba Libre
We decided to add some local flair to one of the most popular drinks in the world. We recommend using a locally made cola, our favourite is Cape Cola.
60ml Fyn Botanical Rum
20ml Lime Juice
Add rum and lime juice to a glass with ice and top with cola.
Stir gently and garnish with a lime wedge.
